The fan paper on this beautiful folding fan is painstakingly coated with layers of “kakishibu” persimmon tannin, which has been used since the Heian period (794-1185). Its elegant luster deepens as it is used.
The bamboo shaft is delicately decorated with beautiful peacock feathers.
The peacock, with its strong life force, represents prosperity of offspring and warding off of evil spirits, making it an ideal gift for weddings and other auspicious occasions.
The front side is green and the backside is brown, making it reversible, so you can enjoy the various expressions.
