Description
The Yarai Nanako pattern is one of the representative motifs of Edo Kiriko. It combines Yarai, a lattice design inspired by crossed bamboo or logs symbolizing a strong foundation and stability, with Nanako (Kanoko), a pattern resembling fish scales. The abundance of scales represents fertility and prosperity. Together, these elements create one of the most auspicious traditional designs, embodying strength, growth, and good fortune.
