The large crescent moon gradually appearing in the pitch-black night sky is beautiful.
“Keibifugetsu” began through an encounter with visual artist and designer Hisakazu Suzuki.
This work expresses “emotional longings” such as prayer, memory, and hope, using the waxing and waning moon as its motif. While the crescent moon appears powerfully, it also carries a sense of transience.
The techniques of the traditional Japanese paper craftsman “Karagen” have been fused to create the beautiful and fantastical designs of Hisakazu Suzuki.
