This round bento box is a traditional handicraft that brings out the fresh aroma of Akita cedar and the beauty of the wood grain.
The box is designed in a “iriko” style, so the upper section can be neatly stored in the lower section after eating or when storing it.
The lower section is unlacquered, so the superior moisture absorption and air permeability of the cedar keeps rice or noodles fluffy and tasty even after it cools down.
The upper section is coated to prevent oil and juices from seeping through, making it perfect for storing fried foods and other side dishes.
It can also be used as a small rice-tub, making it an ideal gift for a wedding or housewarming.
