We created this new Santoku knife using carefully selected materials and specifications together with Takahashi Kusu, a maker with a history of over 100 years in Sakai, Osaka’s kife-producing town.
The blade is made of AUS10 steel, which is used for medical scalpels and boasts high safety and corrosion resistance hammered into beautiful layers characteristic of Damascus steel.
The handle is made of natural oak wood dyed with Japanese indigo to balance the weight for a luxurious look.
Indigo has natural deodorizing properties and also inhibits the growth of bacteria.
As it is naturally derived, it is safe and well-suited for kitchen utensils that require attention to hygiene.
This all-purpose knife is water-resistant and durable, and does not wear out even after long use.
It is a perfect gift to give as a housewarming present or for someone who loves to cook.
